WELCOME TO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH BASE

The Civil Aviation Flight Techniques and Safety Research Base, attached to CAFUC, was set up in 2003 by the authorization of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). According to civil aviation technology development plan and the CAAC development strategy, the base created new system of technology innovation, set up the research platform. Focusing on the significant technological problems in flight technology and safety fields, the base carried out innovation research, gained the primitive applied innovation achievements, and trained the first-class research team and talented staffs in this field. Therefore, the base has become a scientific research entity including production, training and research.

The Civil Aviation Flight Techniques and Safety Research Base consists of 6 research agencies and specialized laboratories, including flight simulation laboratory, aviation psychology laboratory, flight environment laboratory, civil aviation flight technology and simulation research centre, civil aviation safety engineering research institute and civil aviation air defence laboratory, with more than 60 researchers. And the base specially invites more than 20 experts from outside the university to build strong research teams that engage in the research of civil aviation theory and its application. The main research fields consist: simulation techniques of flight training, flight technique assessment, research on the formation and development laws of flight techniques, modern navigation technology, research on the correction techniques of dangerous attitude, simulation research on flight safety, general aviation safety research, taking off and landing techniques research, plateau flight techniques research, cockpit resource management, psychology selection and assessment research, human factor research and some other important fields of civil aviation flight technology and safety.

Moreover, the college has a large faculty of theory teaching staff and staff for flight training; many experienced technicians engaging in actual airplane maintenance and insurance for flight; a number of experts who are covered by government subsidy, national exploit pilots and national medal winners for flight safety. The substantial research power settles a firm cornerstone for the raising and development of the base.

The main facilities of The Civil Aviation Flight Techniques and Safety Research Base are: the flight model building and displaying system; the research and analysis software platform for flight quality and techniques; the flight simulation server; the GPS receiver; the graphics workstation; the parallel computer; the flight performance software; the long-distance recorder of psychological and physical index; the 128 . Attached to the college, the base also has considerable supporting facilities and equipments for research, which include: 85 various single-engine training planes, 23 double-engine training planes, 5 helicopters, 7 whole-range flight simulators for Boeing 737 and Xiayan IIIA etc., 14 fixed practicing machines, the psychological selection system for pilots, the wind tunnel laboratory, the ATC laboratory, the instrument flight practicing machine and so on. Along with the specific laboratories, they provide ideal experimental environment and research platform. The base has also sponsored the academic journal of "Civil Aviation Flight Techniques and Safety".

The Civil Aviation Flight Techniques and Safety Research Base sticks to the guiding principle of "open, flexible, cooperative and competitive", with the mission to "thrive civil aviation industry by advanced technology and talents". The base considers promoting the full implementation of China's strategy of "building a strong China by civil aviation" as its own responsibility. Therefore, the base establishes and improves the technology innovation system, optimizes research conditions and environments, and rallies and integrates research teams. The base focuses on the continuous research on those advantageous directions in the field of flight techniques and safety, hired and trained experts who lead the research in different disciplines, establishing a high-level research team in the important fields which always engages in the pioneering research. Moreover, the base attaches great importance to the principle of "sharing resources, complementing each other, and combining production, learning and research". The base hopes to become an authority in the theory and application research of civil aviation flight techniques and safety, an important training base and an academic communication centre by 2010.
